Mädler-Passage Leipzig
Grimmaische Straße 2-4 in 04109 Leipzig
As we all know, we tend to eat with our eyes – but the Mädler Passage, with its unique historical architecture, is not just a visual treat. For food and wine connoisseurs it is also one of the first ports of call in Leipzig City. The culinary heartbeat of the arcade is Auerbach’s Cellar, made famous by Goethe’s “Faust”. What’s more, a host of bars, bistros and a gourmet food store present a wide range of delicacies for your enjoyment – most of them with a view of the wonderful strolling promenade. In the form of pre- or post-dinner entertainment, the Sanftwut cabaret has been thrilling visitors to the Mädler Passage for the last 20 years.
The world-famous cellar vault is today home to the “Historische Weinstuben” and “Großer Keller” restaurants. The culinary selection on offer includes traditional Saxon cuisine and fresh, seasonal specialties of the highest quality.
For about twenty years the Sanftwut group has given shape to Leipzig’s rich cabaret scene. An in-house ensemble regularly presents new plays that are as humorous as they are memorable. In addition, touring guest performers present well-known cabaret shows.
"Exclusive indulgence calls for an exclusive environment. Our customers love this space - just as we do."
